Our Milestones

ISO CERTIFICATION
On January 8, 2003, MDC became the first construction company in the country to simultaneously receive world class integrated ISO Certifications for the Integrated Management System:
ISO 9001: 2008 for Quality Management from Certification International (UK) Limited / United Kingdom Assessment Services
ISO 14001: 2004 for Environmental Management System from Certification International (UK) Limited / United Kingdom Assessment Services
OHSAS 18001: 2007 for Occupational Health and Safety from Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIPI)
For its consistent compliance to the requirements, MDC was re-certified to three integrated ISO Standards.
BEST "WOW" PROJECT SITE
A. Rita Line, a waterworks project, was awarded by MWCI as one of the “Best WOW Project Site” for 2005. MDC reached another milestone with the construction of Lambingan Pipe Bridge. This 75-meter structural steel bridge was recognized by MWCI officials as “state of the art”.
GREENBELT PROJECT IS AWARDED BY ICSC
The Greenbelt Project got an award from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for its innovative design and development. The ICSC is the trade association of the shopping center industry with over 53,000 members in over 98 countries.
NUVALI ONE EVOTECH ACHIEVES LEED CERTIFICATION
In 2011, the Nuvali One Evotech Project achieved LEED Silver Certification. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
EQUIPMENT CAPABILITIES
To support the increasing number of projects, MDC modernized its equipment enabling to break the world record of cubic meters of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) poured for a specific number of hours. MDC poured 5,500 cubic meters of RMC monolithic in a span of 50 hours for the mat foundation of TRAG2, a 48-storey residential condominium in Makati. It broke the records of ESI concrete pumping of 2,500 cubic meters for the Wallmart Super Center in Florida, USA and the record of 4,000 cubic meters mat foundation poured at the BSA Tower in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY
Safety is one of the major priorities of MDC, as evidenced with the number of projects with at least one (1) million safe man-hours. Market!Market!, Serendra Phase 1 and The Columns Ayala Avenue projects all reached four (4) million safe man-hours last 2005 and 2006. Greenbelt 5 Redevelopment and The Residences at Greenbelt 2 (TRAG 2) achieved three (3) million safe man-hours this December 2007. These were awarded by the Bureau of Working Conditions of the Department of Labor and Employment
Also in 2011, the MWCI-Rodriguez Water Treatment Plant Project was recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for achieving 1,020,232 safe working hours without Lost Time Accident from April 22, 2010 to July 25, 2011.
LARGEST BIM TEAM IN THE PHILIPPINES
MDC established the largest Building Information Modeling Team in the construction industry in the Philippines, now with almost 40 modelers (and still counting) distributed to the different projects in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the company utilizes its BIM team to determine and eliminate clashes in building construction.
FIRST TO USE BUCKLING-RESTRAINED BRACES
The Park Terraces Project in Makati is the first construction project in the Philippines to use Buckling-Restrained Braces.
Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) are composed of a slender steel core continuously supported by a concrete casing in order to prevent buckling under axial compression. The core and the casing are decoupled to prevent interaction between them. BRBs are used to give stiffness and strength to a vertical project, enabling the building to withstand seismic events such as earthquakes.
