Our History

In 1950, Makati Development Corporation was merely a construction division of Ayala Corporation, the company that developed Makati into a world-class financial and commercial district.

It was in 1974, after the transformation of Makati, that MDC was formally engaged in subdivision development and in the construction of government highways as a separate and independent identity. MDC undertook the engineering design and construction of Ayala Alabang Village, one of the country’s premier residential communities.

Eventually, MDC ventured into the international construction scene as it constructed two hospitals abroad – the Najaf and Kadhimiya Hospitals in Iraq, as well as the Palace of the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam.

On January 8, 2003, MDC became the first construction company in the country to simultaneously receive world class integrated ISO Certifications for the Integrated Management System. For its consistent compliance to the requirements, MDC was re-certified to three integrated ISO Standards.

In 2011, MDC underwent a massive reorganization and became a full-scale “one-stop” construction company offering Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Construction Management services to its clients – serving 100% of Ayala Land’s projects and its external clientele. The company now flies under the banner of a new Company Logo, Mission, Vision and Operating Principles.

MDC’s track record includes residential and commercial development, industrial estate development, building and industrial construction, government roads and infrastructure, water supply and waste water projects, engineering design and related technical services for horizontal development, procurement, equipment operations, ready-mixed concrete, formworks and precast products, and construction management services.

In its 37 years of corporate existence, MDC continues to provide superior construction services and is considered to be one of the reputable and respected construction companies in the Philippines.
